Perth Christmas meeting on 2nd December 2018.
This is last meeting for the year. Everyone’s welcome to come along and enjoy some festive cheer. Wishing all a joyous, pain free Christmas and happy new year.
Perth Support Group will meet on Saturday 7 October from 2 – 4pm at Grace Vaughan House, 227 Stubbs Terrace, Shenton Park. Our Annual General Meeting will be briefly held this day (apologies – it was not held on 5 Aug as mistakenly announced in the previous newsletter)
Members will have the opportunity to ask questions, share TN experience and the support of fellow sufferers which can be most helpful and informative, especially for new members.
Midland Support Group
Meet on Saturday 23 September from 2 – 4pm at The Ascension Hall, 17 Spring Park Road, Midland.
Non-members and guests are most welcome to attend TN meetings.
Our guest speaker on Saturday 5 August was Dr Nicholas Cooke from the Painless Clinic. Members were most appreciative and enjoyed a very enlightening presentation and discussion relating to the persistent pain of classical and atypical TN, the importance of a correct diagnosis and the various treatments and procedures available to help alleviate and manage this ghastly pain. He showed us some valuable guidelines on how to successfully rewire pain by adopting a sensible and healthy lifestyle approach. It gave many of us hope that we might work on an alternative solution other than going down the serious and invasive path of drugs and surgery.
DVDs and Information
For those who were unable to attend, DVDs of Dr Cooke’s talk are available and a summary of his presentation is included in the October newsletter.

Dr Nicholas Cooke from Painless Clinic (was WA Specialist Pain Services)
Sue Ormrod who suffers both TN and fibromyalgia has found Dr Cooke’s innovative treatment and care most helpful and we look forward to hearing all about his approach in treating TN.
Dr Cooke trained at Guys Hospital, London and has been practising as a general practitioner in Perth for 20 years. He became interested in pain management through his interest in orthopaedics, rheumatology and the accurate diagnosis of persistent pain.
This promises to be a most interesting and informative talk and a must for those sufferers looking for answers and help along the path to pain freedom. All Welcome!
